I'm Back (+ Where I Went and Why!)
Hello Everyone!! I'm sorry that I've been gone for a long time, but I've returned for a little while! So! Where was I? That's actually a more complicated question than might at first be obvious. Thing the First: I ended up taking a teaching job in China! I've been teaching children English in Beijing and while it's been a wild ride, it has been well worth it! Over the last few years, I've learned a lot about myself and what I wanted from life being here and getting used to being in a place so far from home. Has it been easy? Oh hell no. Being in a place that is so different from what I was used to has pushed me in ways I could never have expected in both good an bad ways. I've become more adaptable, that's definitely for sure, but I've also gotten more anxious... Which leads us to... Thing the Second: I had/have a lot of anxiety about being online and putting myself out there. So, growing up I was partially raised by my grandparents. I love them dearly, and they taught me a
Spring Break is a Thing!!
Hello Dearies!
So... so much for those uploads I was going to do. Art's been done, but I just can't get time/get motivated/get to a scanner to upload them.
With that in mind, to my more prolific friends: How do you find time to work on your art? Also, how do you feel about having them out there in the world where anyone can see them, and by extension, comment on them? I'm realizing that I'm a little afraid to put my stuff out in the open (mostly because I don't see them as worth someone looking at... I'm my own worst critic...)
How do you get over this kind of thing? I'm not sure what to do...
On a lighter note, Spring break starts this F
OH my!!
Hello everyone!
Sorry for not being here more often! This semester has been crazy on so many levels!
Art has been done but I don't have access to good coloring supplies...! And a decent scanner!
I come home for Thanksgiving break soon, so (hopefully) watch out for uploads!
Love y'all!

Leaving Work... aaaaand Onto School!
Hello Friends and Fiends!
Sooo.... I uploaded a few things... ~otlplz (https://www.deviantart.com/otlplz) I guess I just can't manage to keep uploads steady... It really takes a night of shenanigans with KeeperOfCoffins with her pushing me to upload to get me to do so... My motivation is as unsteady as my uploads... ^^; Frankly, I've been so busy I've considered leaving dA multiple times, but I keep it open nonetheless... We'll see where this leads!
Anywhoo, I'm heading back to school in a week or so, and tomorrow (today) is my last day of work (FINALLY) so packing and sorting and getting things for my dorm again is a thing! I'm going into my Junior year, so hard classes

I'm working on a 100 question tag from freshie right now so I'll just answer in the comments, hope that's okay! X3
1.What are your Halloween Plans? - Handing out candy to kiddos and trying the carmeled onion trick!
2.What costume are you going to be in? - None this years sadly, but I did have plans to be Rotty-Tops from the game Shantae!
3.Do you make or buy your costume? - Make them if I can! Stopped buying when I realized most things available for my body were too revealing and things for my heart were always too many sizes too big. : (
4.What's your favorite monster/creature? - Oooh tough one, Scylla are super cute and squiddy, werethings and chimeras are always fun, most traditionally though I've gottah say I've always been FASCINATED by tales of the "Jersey Devil".
5.What's your favorite movie/show to watch around Halloween? - Silent Hill, Big Fish (I have no idea why, not even a very scary Burton film but one of my favorite!) Nightmare before Christmas of course, and The Princess Bride (Which has always been a "fall" movie for me ever since the timing of my grandparent's visits and that worn to pieces recorded VHS copy they'd bring for us.)
6.What's your favorite horror story? - *Huggles collection of "Scary Stories" book set illustrated by Alan Schwartz* The Wolf Girl or "Wendigo" from that collection. Harald however is the only one that to this day still freaks me right the FUCK out. I HATE lving doll stories of any kind and am legit terrified of porceline ones. *Reasons why I will never watch Rozen Maiden number 48782*
7.Do you like this time of year, or does it creep you out? - GOD I LOVE IT. Seasons change, perfect excuse to put pumpkin into EVERYTHING, Fall baking, autumn themed soaps, nice crisp weather and beautiful oranges and reds, scary movies start coming out, annual replays of silent hill with friends, all the candy goes on sale, little kids have the cutest costumes, women's costumes are still sexist as all fuck, and me and all my fellow queerfolk march around trying to fix that by having our dude-allies wear mini skirts, my birthday happens, and then of course, HALLOWEEEEEEEN!
8.Do you believe in ghosts? - Yes actually! I have a pretty thought out idea of what it would be like to BE a ghost and what they are but it's sort of surrealist and weird to explain. Like, you're not really a person or a soul even, more like an imprint, or leftovers of a soul, and mostly emotion. Sort of like being trapped between this world and the next, and the reason so many accounts of ghosts are of violent or poltergeist types is because the ghost is only capable of acting on whatever intense emotion as felt at the time of death and not being in the "right place". Yeah that was confusing...
9.If yes, tell me an experience you've had (I'm curious!) - More of a...witnessing really. My best friend and I were at a party once, and we played a version of that "Light as a feather" game, where four people stand on a corner with the player in the center chanting and then the player feels like their floating. Only this version entailed the story of a murder and a woman getting slashed in the back. My friend got really freaked out during it and called it off. When we went home she kept complaining about her back hurting. I thought she was just playing it up to scare me, but later that night we took a shower and there was this HUGE red mark right across her back just like in the story! 0.o Every now and then we talk about that time and she says she can still feel it, but the mark is gone... *Plays spooky music*
10.Zombie Apocalypse!! What's the first thing you do?? - Channel a cross between Jayne Cobb and Francis and get to town surviving!
11.What's your favorite costume you've worn thus far? - Last year's, needs some major improvement but I went as Aziraphael the angel from Niel Gaimen and Terry Pratchet's book "Good Omens" with my friend who went trick-or-treating with me as his bud Crowley the Serpent!
12.Gore or no gore in your Halloween? - ALL THE GORE. *Satan walks in and promptly menstruates all over the place*
13.What does Halloween mean to you? - Mostly candy and horror movie/anime marathons with friends but the debate about it's historical context has always been fun, and to this day it's still one of my most favorite "American" holidays!
